The Guidance Services and Wellness Center (GSWC), through its community service initiative LUGUD, joined the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) in its community outreach program, CAS Care and Share, in coordination with the Sangguniang Kabataan and officials of Barangay Besong, Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya. The initiative was conducted under Project HAPPY (Harmony, Acceptance, Purpose, Positivity, You Matter) and reached 60 students of Kayapa High School.

The morning sessions featured a mental health talk facilitated by Mr. Noel Harry R. Estillore, a stress management session conducted by Ms. Leah Ann S. De Palma, and an interactive self-care activity facilitated by Mr. Estillore and processed by Ms. De Palma. These sessions aimed to strengthen students’ awareness of mental health, encourage healthy stress management, and highlight the importance of self-care.

In the afternoon, individual counseling services were provided to seven students, offering them an opportunity to receive more focused guidance and support. The cases were endorsed to Ms. Quiren Joy B. Corpuz, the school’s guidance counselor-teacher designate, for appropriate follow-up. The GSWC Network of Linkages was also endorsed to help facilitate access to additional support services, as needed.
Through LUGUD, the GSWC continues to extend mental health services beyond the Center by working with schools and community partners to promote student well-being and strengthen access to appropriate support.
Together, let us foster communities where mental health is valued, students feel supported, and every young person is reminded: You matter.
