The Guidance Services and Wellness Center, under the Student Affairs Services, develops, implements, and supervises programs and activities intended to serve the well-being and ensure the overall welfare of students. It provides a set of services using an integrated approach that aims to develop integrated individuals who are empowered to give meaning and direction to their own lives and become productive members of society through: heightening awareness of oneself and others, developing confidence in assuming responsibility for his or her personal concerns, and promoting social involvement.

Services
Kamustahan/Counseling Service
Interventions designed to facilitate positive change and substantial empowerment among students’ behavior, feelings, attitudes and career decision making. Kamustahan/Counseling sessions are conducted individually or by group through online platforms and/or face-to-face set-up.
The Office offers both online and offline communication channels for appointment systems and the conduct of kamustahan/counseling sessions.

Testing and Appraisal Service
Psychological tests are administered to assess students’ abilities, aptitudes, achievements, interests, and intellectual capabilities, gaining better self-understanding. Testing is conducted individually or by groups through in-person or online set-up.
Individual Inventory
Gathering and safekeeping of student data to support accurate profiling, planning, and appropriate identification of needs.
Information Service
Providing students with relevant information to support them in their personal, social, emotional, and academic growth. This is disseminated and carried out through seminars, webinars, printed materials, and online resources posted on GSWC’s official platforms.
The office utilizes the use of the University’s Canvas Learning Management System and Facebook application as mediums for information dissemination through the following platforms.

Monitoring and Follow-up Service
Academic performance of referred students is monitored every midterm, with updates sent to parents or guardians via email or postal mail. Follow-ups are also conducted through online platforms to check on the status of students, particularly previous clients, referrals, and transferees.
Referral Service
Coordination with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure that students’ special needs are addressed. Organizational networks are readily available and can be shared with clients seeking further support or expertise.
Research and Evaluation
Gathering, treatment, and analysis of data to determine the effectiveness of the guidance activities and services, as well as customer satisfaction.
Career Guidance
Assist the Career and Alumni Connection Center (CACC) in delivering programs and services that support students’ career development and professional readiness through counseling/kamustahan and testing.
Community Service: Learning towards Unity, Growth and Upliftment for Community Development (LUGUD)
Office’s community and school-based outreach program, where GSWC personnel serve as resource speakers or facilitators for mental health talks.
Inclusive Support Services
Providing academic and personal development support tailored to the diverse needs of learners with special needs (LSNs) and other vulnerable student groups, fostering their growth in an inclusive and empowering environment.

Programs
KAAGAPAY: Support Groups
The support groups aim to provide a safe and nurturing space where students can connect with peers who share similar experiences and access tailored interventions and resources that promote mental health and holistic well-being. The following are the current established groups:
- Sumikom- support group for LGBTQIA+
- Alpas- support group for students with additional needs
- Sinag- support group for students with OFW parents
- Pahimakas- support group for students experiencing grief and bereavement
Peer Facilitation Program
The UC Peer Facilitators Organization is a transformative and accredited group that serves as an extension of the Guidance Services and Wellness Center. Peer facilitators are trained, skilled, and supervised students who assist in implementing guidance services. They also conduct psycho-educational activities for fellow students and refer those needing professional mental health support to the office.
The UC Peer Facilitators Organization utilizes Facebook application and the University’s Canvas Learning Management System in conducting and facilitating activities.

A Peer Tutor assist students in their academic journey by providing support that enhances achievement while fostering self-learning and independence. (Peer Tutor Recruitment for Project CHAMPION)
The Peer Tutoring Program builds upon one academic community’s greatest strengths, the pervasive culture of passionate support from all members of its family, by coordinating efforts for students to help students so not just one, but all Jaguars can achieve their very best. Enrichment Program: Mental Health and Well-Being
The enrichment program provides a supportive and engaging environment that empowers students to discover their strengths, set meaningful goals, and develop essential skills for long-term success. It promotes self-confidence, self-awareness, improved study habits, social-emotional growth, informed decision-making, and active participation in a positive school community.
