PeerKada Vibe Helps Northern Luzon HEIs Promote Student Well-Being

More than 100 participants from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Regions I, II, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) gathered at 456 Hotel in Baguio City for the opening of PeerKada Vibe: Building Healthy Connections, Nurturing Inclusive and Supportive Spaces.

The program aims to help schools strengthen student well-being, build peer support, and develop student leaders.

The event started with a media briefing and talks from mental health and student development experts. They discussed the importance of peer support in helping students feel safe, included, and supported in school.

In his opening message, CHED-CAR OIC-Regional Director Dr. Serafin L. Ngohayon shared that creating supportive school communities helps develop responsible, productive, and law-abiding citizens.

During the activity, participants joined workshops on peer facilitation, vision board presentations, and sessions on forming Peer Facilitator Groups. These activities gave them the skills and knowledge to support fellow students, encourage healthy relationships, make responsible decisions, and promote mental wellness in their schools.

Through the PeerKada Vibe program, student leaders and peer advisers are empowered to become positive role models and help create a more caring, inclusive, and supportive campus community.
