The Guidance Services and Wellness Center (GSWC), in partnership with the Community Service Department, conducted the Psycho-emotional Healing and Resilience Program for the Youth in Dontogan, Baguio City. The program aimed to provide young people with a safe space to express their emotions, develop resilience, and support their personal growth.
The first session was held on May 8, 2026, at the Feeding Center headed by Ma’am Pacita, with 16 youth participants. The program started with opening remarks from Ma’am Pacita, followed by the introduction of the GSWC personnel. An icebreaker activity was facilitated by Ma’am Daphne E. Zaparita, GSWC Coordinator, to help participants feel comfortable and engaged.

Ma’am Aira Verceles, GSWC Guidance Associate, conducted a talk on Self-Awareness, highlighting the importance of understanding one’s emotions, actions, and experiences. This was followed by the Johari Window activity, which helped participants recognize their strengths, improve self-awareness, and build self-confidence through positive feedback from their peers.
In the afternoon, participants joined group-building activities and games facilitated by Ma’am Daphne E. Zaparita and Ma’am Leah Ann De Palma. Psychological assessments, including the Perceived Stress Scale, Well-Being Scale, and Brief Resilience Scale, were also administered to help participants become more aware of their mental and emotional well-being.
The second session was conducted on May 23, 2026, at the Baptist Church in Dontogan, Baguio City, with 17 participants. The session focused on “Shaping Your Future: Career Path” and was facilitated by Ma’am Charmaine Factor and Ma’am Aira Verceles. Through discussions and activities, participants learned about the importance of career planning, identifying their interests and abilities, and overcoming challenges such as peer pressure, family expectations, and self-doubt.

A group activity called Career Island, facilitated by Ma’am Charmaine, allowed participants to identify important careers needed in a community and understand the role of different professions in society. The activity encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and appreciation for various career paths.
The two-session program successfully promoted emotional healing, self-awareness, resilience, career readiness, and personal development among the youth participants. It provided meaningful opportunities for learning, reflection, and growth while encouraging them to pursue their goals with confidence and determination.
