The UC Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO) was invited by the College of Arts and Sciences to its three-day community outreach program, CAS: Care and Share, from April 3 to 5, 2025, at Sitio Bantic, Brgy. Dalupirip, Itogon, Benguet.
The first day, April 3, was the final preparation and travel time from the University of the Cordilleras Main Campus to Bantic National High School, Sitio Bantic.
On the second day, April 4, personnel from the GCO, Ms. Leah Ann De Palma and Mr. Brylle Jake Tacadena, offered a series of seminars and activities for students.
The first seminar was delivered by Ms. Leah Ann De Palma, focusing on students’ mental health issues. Wellbeing was the core of the seminar, concentrating on the Filipino perspective of wellbeing— “Kaginhawaan.” The different Filipino concepts related to wellbeing were discussed, including the different ways of achieving and maintaining “Kaginhawaan.”

The second seminar was delivered by Mr. Brylle Jake Tacadena. He discussed the different career paths that students may take. Interactive activities were conducted in which students exhibited their skills and talents. Afterwards, he provided tips and matters to consider in career decision-making.
Subsequently, a school-wide interactive group activity was facilitated with the assistance of the GCO personnel. In this activity, the students displayed cooperation, intelligence, and enthusiasm. Despite the different challenging tasks given, the students demonstrated perseverance in completing them. The day ended with a shared community dance with BNHS students as a symbol of harmony and unity.
The last day consisted of a short turnover and awarding ceremony in the presence of BNHS faculty, staff, students, and our project partners, marking the end of the community extension program.
