Launching: Active Collaboration to Enhance Well-Being (ACE WeB)

In line with Mental Health Awareness Month, the Guidance Services and Wellness Center (GSWC) held an event last October 29, 2025, titled “Active Collaboration to Enhance Well-Being (ACE WeB) with the theme “Stronger Together Towards Wellness for Every Student Journey”. The launching of ACE WeB was attended by 43 employees.

This initiative aimed to strengthen the University’s commitment to promoting overall well-being through the following objectives: (1) establish a Focal Point System within the University to coordinate programs that support wellness; (2) encourage healthier lifestyles that enhance self-care and holistic well-being; and (3) create opportunities for empowerment among students and the UC community in taking charge of their personal growth and quality of life.

The highlight of the event was the talk by the resource speaker, Mr. Rolando Malafu, RGC. His talk emphasized the importance of mental health, self-care, and the crucial role of collaboration among faculty, staff, and administration in supporting student well-being.

In summary, the event reinforced that well-being is a shared responsibility, and that the collective efforts of instructors, non-teaching personnel, and administrators are vital in creating a supportive academic environment. True to its theme “Stronger Together Towards Wellness for Every Student Journey”, the event reaffirmed the University’s dedication to cultivating a culture of care, compassion and collaboration for every student’s growth and success.
