On September 04, 2025, the Guidance Services and Wellness Center (GSWC) of the University of the Cordilleras in collaboration with the Tuba Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) proudly took part in the conducting of youth development and peer education sessions which is an initiative organized by the Tuba MSWDO. The session, held at Tuba National High School in Nangalisan, aimed to equip and encourage at-risk youth, 4Ps beneficiaries, youth in need of special protection, and identified out-of-school youth of the school, with a total of 35 participants.
Guidance Associates from the UC Guidance Services and Wellness Center, Ms. Stephanie Joy Pogongan and Mr. Johnfrey C. Cabalonga, led the interactive sessions. Sir Johnfrey opened with a discussion on essential life skills, highlighting the importance of practical competencies and positive attitudes in daily life. This was followed by Ms. Stephanie’s session on emotional and mental well-being, emphasizing self-awareness, resilience, and peer support.

The success of the activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Guidance Services and Wellness Center (GSWC) and the Tuba Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO). While the GSWC focused on facilitating discussions that strengthened students’ emotional and mental well-being, the MSWDO enriched the experience through engaging icebreakers, provision of snacks, lunch, and shirts, and assistance. Together, both institutions cultivated an atmosphere of care, connection, and empowerment, reminding every student that growth and well-being flourish best in a community that works hand in hand.
